
A ceasefire between Station Casinos and the Culinary Workers Union Local 226 is likely to result in the unionization associated with the Palace Station in downtown Las Vegas.
Palace Station’s owner Station Casinos has been accused of trying to influence an election of its workers by indirectly threatening these with health care premium cuts.
It is not that Station has suddenly changed its long-held anti-union stance; rather, the company has been forced into an uncomfortable climb down, having been accused of rigging a workers’ election, possibly in violation regarding the National Labor Relations Act.
This week, the business decided to settle a unfair labor practices issue filed to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) by the union. Facility was criticized by the NLRB for allegedly interfering with the election, held last October.
